Lesson 16 At the Feast of Tabernacles John 7:1-31and Leviticus 23:33-43
The Feast of Tabernacles (or Feast of Booths or Sukkot) is a Jewish holiday celebrated mid-September to late October. It is one of the three biblical pilgrim festivals, when it is traditional for Jews to visit the Temple in Jerusalem. The festival lasts seven days. It reminds the Jews of the tent-like dwellings they used during their 40 years of wandering in the desert after their escape from Egypt. The Feast of the Tabernacles was a time when Jews were expected to go to Jerusalem. Initially Jesus didn’t want to go, but finally did go.
Question 3 Everywhere Jesus went, people formed strong views about him, either for or against Jesus. Do you think Jesus was meek and mild?
Question 5 Jesus defends his act of healing on a Sabbath. How? V 22+23
